Hagia Sophia, Istanbul, Turkey
In the heart of Istanbul, the Hagia Sophia remains one of the world’s most beloved and wonderful architectural spots. It was originally built as a Christian basilica over a thousand years ago. The Hagia Sophia has been prominently deemed a long-enduring symbol of the cosmopolitan city, like its other counterparts, like the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Athens’ Parthenon. Over time, the Hagia Sophia has become a mosque, a museum, and a mosque again – a reflection of the changing faith of the people of Istanbul and the political climate.
Emperor Constantine, I first had the first site for Hagia Sophia constructed. The foundations of the first site had been from the ruins of an old pagan worship site. In addition to that, it was his son, Constantine II, who had the site finally consecrated. A few decades later, a fire that had broken out during a riot destroyed the Hagia Sophia.

The Château de Chenonceau is a chateau in France occupied by powerful women. The chateau boasts of formal gardens, the magic of the architecture, and the château’s fascinating history. Forests also are located in the chateau.
The River Cher built the first iteration of the chateau. Jean Marques had owned it when it was set on fire in 1412. During 1430, the chateau was sold to Thomas Bohier, and his wife Katherine Briçonnet bought it by none other than Jean Marques’ heir.

Sadly, though, the history and origins of the Abbey are tricky to track. At best, Westminster Abbey’s origins can be traced back to the 10th century. The first inhabitants of Westminster Abbey were Benedictine monks. In the 1060s, under the reign of St. and King Edward the Confessor, Westminster Abbey received its first grand building. The Abbey has a Gothic style inspired by French and English styles dating back to the 13th century.
