Reasons Not To Use Your Phone In The Toilet

People have become so health conscious these days and are investing in best multivitamin for men and women, bodybuilding, fat burning supplements, gym apparels, gym equipment and much more. However, they are ignoring a few basic and essential things that play a crucial role in maintaining good health and one of them is how they are bringing cellphones to their damn toilets.

According to research, most of the people use their phones on the toilet. Indeed we all have grown so used to carrying our devices everywhere we go that we have started using them in the toilets also. Do you know it is actually not good for your health? In this article we will share some of the reasons why you should not use your phone in the toilet.

  • Easily Transfers Germs

Phones easily pick up and transfer germs. The main issue is we touch the flush handle, loo seat, lock on the door and a few people easily touch their phone before even washing their hands. Doing this could expose your phone to dangerous bugs such as E.coli, salmonella etc. Nobody wants them on their phone. But if your hands are contaminated and dirty with bacteria or viruses and you pick your phone after using the toilet then you will be transferring these germs and they might end up on your food also.

  • Can Cause Hemorrhoids Issue

It’s common these days to browse instagram, facebook or stock market when taking a dump. But doing this can cause pressure on your anus and rectum, which can result in hemorrhoids. It can also lead to itching, pain and other unpleasant effects. According to study, average bowel movement only takes 12 seconds; sometimes it may take longer, but at maximum you should avoid spending more than 10 minutes on the toilet.

  • Wastes Your Time

According to a study, an individual spends an average of 90 minutes a day on the phone. This means that phones easily distract us from our daily activities and we waste 5 hours per week on useless and non work related things. Many people have admitted that at the workplace they do bathroom trips to check their social media and personal emails often when they should actually be working.

  • Addiction

Your brain also needs a break. The bowel movements may be your mind’s way of screaming for a break. If you never let your brain wander and relax you will never be able to solve those deep creative problems that are more important than replying to any mail within a few minutes. The obsession to be constantly on the phone and responding as quickly as possible is making you addicted.
