Aftercare is Crucial for Long-Term Success at Impact Recovery Center

You are transitioning from addiction treatment, and re-entering the real world on your leaves you susceptible to relapse, isolation, and emotional distress. An effective rehab aftercare plan provides structure and support to help you overcome these issues.

Look for an aftercare program that offers weekly outpatient group therapy, sober living, psychiatry, and 12-step programs. These services can help you stay sober and address other underlying issues that may arise.

Support Groups

Seeking addiction treatment dramatically increases the odds of long-term sobriety. However, recovery is a lifelong process that requires high support to thrive. Addiction support groups are essential to a treatment plan while someone is in drug or alcohol rehab and as part of their aftercare.

Addiction support groups are often run by people with first-hand experiences with substance use disorder. They offer guidance, a supportive community, and a sense of accountability vital for continued recovery. Many of these groups have specific subgroups for women, men, people of varying religions or spiritual beliefs, those with specific drugs of abuse, or those dealing with dual recovery.

In situations where friends and family members give a sober person money or food, people in recovery need to read more and learn the distinction between support and enabling. A sober person needs to develop self-responsibility skills and strive to contribute to society to prosper.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is a valuable tool in recovery, offering one-on-one therapy sessions that provide a safe space to discuss personal issues in a supportive and understanding environment. These one-on-one meetings help people gain insight into their emotions, which can ultimately open the door to positive changes in their lives.

Many people who go through addiction treatment do not have a support system to help them during this difficult time. Finding a rehab facility that offers individual therapy sessions and support groups for patients and their families is crucial.

In addition to providing individual therapy sessions, Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center provides residents with a safe and respectful living environment. It includes dormitory-style rooms and three healthy meals per day. They also encourage family involvement in rehab through weekly therapy sessions and visitations. This support system helps individuals feel supported throughout their recovery journey, which is essential for long-term success.

Alumni Programs

Addiction recovery is a long-term process; aftercare is the most crucial part of the treatment journey. Alum support programs provide former clients the same care they experienced in rehab. They help them avoid relapse by encouraging communication, life skills development, issue resolution resources, and sober activities.

Alumni groups meet regularly to maintain the connection and support they built while in addiction treatment. They also provide a safe place for individuals to discuss any lingering issues and receive empathetic feedback.

Medical and Mental Health Care

UNM SOM reassures students that any counseling or psychiatry they receive through these initiatives is confidential and will not be documented in their health records. Moreover, no faculty member involved in their care is in any position to evaluate their academic performance.

Located on two-acre property, Impact Recovery Center is equipped to provide comprehensive mental and addiction treatment services for women and men. The facility has inpatient facilities for 130 patients in dormitory-style rooms with two to four beds. They have access to individual and group therapy sessions, a gym, a dining room, and a separate building that houses common areas. Three healthy meals are prepared daily for residents.

The facility has a staff of counselors, therapists, psychologists, case managers, dietitians, and social workers. The program is broken down into three stages, and each phase has milestones that the client must reach before they can move on to the next.
